God's Word and Luther's doctrine pure shall to eternity endure!
A warm, Texas-sized welcome to you and your family from our Church families here at Holy Trinity and Saint James Lutheran Churches! We are a dual-parish of the one holy Christian and apostolic Church, and we are affiliated with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. We joyfully exist by God’s grace to meet the spiritual needs of our members, our guests and all who would now or in the future be in need of a Church home and family. We are here to proclaim the saving Name of God the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Welcome to our website. We would like to welcome you as well to join us in Divine Worship on Sundays and other holy days and seasons in the Church year. You're always invited to receive with us the gifts of God’s forgiveness, life and salvation in Word and Sacrament in His Church. Come and hear how God the Father sent His only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to be the “atoning sacrifice” for our sins. (1 John 4:10) That is, how our Savior Jesus was slain and died a holy, blameless death in order to save us from our sins. (See 1 John 4:14) And, how He rose again triumphantly on the third day in order to defeat the power of death and the devil for us so that we will one day, too, rise eternally with Him.
We accept and heartily acknowledge all the canonical books of the Old and New Testaments as the divinely inspired (God-breathed) and inerrant (without error) Word of God, and the only source, rule and norm of Christian doctrine and practice.
We also hold fast to and confess the symbolic (identifying badge of our faith) books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church (The Book of Concord or Lutheran Confessions), which are the correct and faithful exposition of the Holy Word of God.
So yes, by all means, come join with us in the liturgical and theologically rich heritage that God in His grace has blessed us with. “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!" (1 Thessalonians 5:28)
